With six wins in his first six games in charge of Brazil, the Seleção’s fortunes have reversed under new coach Tite. The upturn in form has left many pontificating on the key to the team’s results, but Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho thinks it’s all about confidence.
“The coach gives confidence to all players, not only for those who start the game, but for everyone in the group he tries to pass on that confidence, so everyone feels at ease, and this has made the group grow.”
Coutinho acknowledged that Peru made Brazil work for the three points in Lima on Tuesday, “It was a very difficult game, against a very capable team, we suffered a little at the beginning, but in the end we managed to get the victory, which is very important.
“Six consecutive games with victory, winning the three points, this is important for our qualification campaign. It gives us confidence. I’m glad to have had some opportunities to play and hope to pay that back on the pitch.”
