Investment fund DIS, which owned 40% of the economic rights of Neymar when he was sold to Barcelona in 2013, accuses the Catalan team, Santos, the player and his family for fraud.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, DIS group declined an offer of €3 million from Barcelona to close the case against the club for the transfer of Neymar, which happened in 2013. In the court, DIS charges a compensation of more than €30 million. The group belonging to businessman Delcir Sonda received just over €6 million from the sale of Neymar. It was equivalent to 40% of the €17 million paid by Barcelona directly to Santos. However, the Spanish club admitted later that the total value of the transaction was in the region of €86.2 million.
On Wednesday,  DIS lawyers asked the Spanish National Court to open proceedings against Neymar, his parents, Barcelona, Santos, former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell and current president Josep Maria Bartomeu, for fraud and corruption in the transfer of the player. DIS believes that Bartomeu is primarily responsible for fraud for having signed most of the contracts between the parties at the time of the transfer in 2013 as sports vice president of Barcelona.
