The sale of Brazilian defender Felipe from Corinthians to Portuguese side FC Porto should be officially completed soon.
According to UOL Esporte, Porto have sent a written offer and, thus, the transfer becomes a matter of time. Financial director Emerson Piovesan confirmed that club president Roberto de Andrade has received the proposal from Porto. He said: “Roberto actually received it. Everything is handled directly by him and it seems that everything is on track, everything is in order.”
Negotiation values were not disclosed by the clubs involved, but the fee is believed to be in the region of €7.5 million for 75% of Felipe’s economic rights. Felipe has admitted in interviews that wages for a five-year contract has already been agreed. In the negotiations conducted by agent Giuliano Bertolucci, Porto accepted one of the main demands of Corinthians. The Brasileirão champions wanted to maintain 25% of economic rights, keeping in mind the possibility of future profits with Felipe, especially with the history of significant sales made by the Portuguese team in recent years.
Two factors, however, can make Felipe continue at Corinthians for some more time, even with the transfer about to be completed. The transfer window in Europe only opens in July and, in addition, Tite suffers from problems in his defence. Fabián Balbuena is in the Copa América, Yago has been suspended due to doping issues and Vílson is away with injury.
