Alexandre Pato is keen to stay in London after his loan spell with Chelsea ends, according to his representative Kia Joorabchian. Pato joined Chelsea on loan from Corinthians in January, but has only made one substitute appearance and one start since.

Pato started Chelsea’s defeat to Swansea on Saturday, but was replaced by Bertrand Traore in the second half. Joorabchian says that the Brazilian is keen to stay in London however, even though it is unlikely Chelsea will take up the chance to sign him on a permanent deal.

‘He wanted to come to Chelsea, that was his first choice,’ Joorabchian told Goal, ‘He loves the Premier League and wants to stay here if Chelsea want to keep him. I think a lot of things will change between now and the end of the season. He was very successful in his first Premier League match and he needs to continue to impress.’

Pato’s contract with Corinthians runs until January 2017, so he is free to negotiate a free transfer with other clubs come July. The player has already resisted a move to China, with his heart set on remaining in Europe.
