Last Saturday, Liverpool drew [1-1] with Tottenham at Anfield, in the 32nd round of the Premier League.
Liverpool"s number 10, Philippe Coutinho scored the opening goal of the game and received praise from the British press, while coach Jürgen Klopp labelled the former Vasco player as a genius. Coutinho combined well with Daniel Sturridge to open the scoring six minutes after the half-time break, but his goal was cancelled out by in form English striker Harry Kane. Liverpool, with 45 points, are 9th in the league table, nine points behind 4th placed Manchester City. Klopp said after the game: “Coutinho is a genius of a player but I don"t like how you pick players out. It is a team game."
Klopp was also asked about the yellow card collected by Coutinho for simulation. He added: “I don"t want to answer this question. I"m not long enough here to know what I can say. I have nothing to say. He"s in full sprint. You"re experienced enough to write what you saw. We played against a very stellar team and we could have won this game, but we haven"t. But to see things is satisfying."
