Chinese second division side Tianjin Songjiang, coached by former Real Madrid manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo, have been showing interest in the player for quite a while, but their €11 million offer was deemed low by Santos. Club president Modesto Roma has confirmed the information, and has made a counter-proposal. Santos owns 35% of the economic rights of Geuvânio, and would’ve received around €4m had they accepted the proposal on Monday. The values of the counter-offer were not disclosed, but the club believes that €15m is a reasonable amount to negotiate Geuvânio. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, the youngster is happy with the €56,000 a week salary offered by Tianjin, and has agreed to play in China. For this to happen, however, Santos must release him. Modesto does not intend to keep the player and believes the Asian team will increase their proposal.
