After sending a representative to Naples to speed up the negotiations, Fluminense are making plans for the imminent arrival of 29-year-old defender Henrique.
As reported by Globo Esporte, the player is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro this week to undergo medical examinations, and sign a three-year contract, before being officially announced as their fourth signing of the 2016 season. Talks have been going on since November, and on December 30, in the presence of a Fluminense representative at the Italian club’s training centre in Castel Volturno, negotiations once again advanced. The announcement hasn’t been made because the lawyers of both parties are reviewing the contract, and this bureaucratic issue will prevent the defender from traveling with the group to the United States, where the club will have their pre-season. The team departs on Tuesday, and will take part in the Florida Cup.
Meanwhile, Fluminense wants to bring back attacker Wellington Nem on loan, and are expecting a response from Ukrainian side Shakhtar next week.
