Injured at the beginning of last week, Barcelona forward Neymar traveled to Japan with his participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in doubt.
As mentioned in Globo Esporte, Neymar is working with his personal trainer, Rafael Martini, who has been accompanying the player directly since last year. Besides this, Neymar, who"s running against time to recover from a fibrillar problem in his left thigh, is using a physical therapy equipment with NASA technology [US Aerospace Agency] that promises to speed up treatment. The equipment is called “Game Ready" and can cost up to US$ 4000. It cools and compresses damaged areas at the same time and can be used for both muscle injuries and for orthopedic problems. Its manufacturer states that the equipment is used by dozens of teams in the United States – between MLS, NFL and NBA – as well as European clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The device that Neymar has used, however, belongs to the player himself. Neymar"s teammate Lionel Messi had also used “Game Ready" to speed up his recovery from a left knee injury suffered in September. Messi was initially ruled out for last month"s El Clásico, but recovered ahead of schedule and was able to take part in the game.
