After an hour and a half late for landing in São Paulo due to the bad weather, Palmeiras arrived in Congonhas on the afternoon of Thursday.
Many journalists and security guards of the club waited for the passage of the players, following their 2-1 defeat to Fluminense in the first leg semifinal of the Copa do Brasil. Only Dudu talked to the journalists, and he showed confidence to reverse the result at home. Dudu insists the focus is now on the weekend fixture with Sport Recife and try to get into the top-4. He was quoted in Globo Esporte: “It is difficult, but it"s a result that we can reverse, as if it was 2-0, would"ve been a little more complicated. It"s in the past now, and we have to think about the game against Sport. It is a difficult game and we have to continue to fight for the top-4."
However, Dudu does not know if he will be on the pitch on Saturday when Palmeiras takes on Sport. There will be a training session on the afternoon of Friday, and it remains to be seen if coach Marcelo Oliveira would rotate the team, as happened in the 3-1 win over Avaí last week. He added: “I don"t know [about resting the main players]. Marcelo has the team in his head. We will arrive tomorrow to train and hope that whoever he choses will be the best for Palmeiras to continue fighting for the top-4."
