Doubts about Bruno Guimarães’ permanence at Newcastle United continue to grow as the season draws to a close. The Brazilian will suffer a significant salary drop for not qualifying for the Champions League and this could push him to force an exit, which would be valued at 100 million pounds, this being his termination clause.

If a team ends up paying this figure, which would be around 116 million euros at the current exchange rate, Bruno Guimarães could become, this summer, the third most expensive Brazilian in history.

Neymar, Coutinho and… Bruno Guimarães?

Currently, the podium of the most expensive Brazilians in history is led by Neymar Jr. in first place, who, thanks to the 222 million euros of his transfer to PSG in 2017, remains the most expensive signing in history.

In second position appears Philippe Coutinho, who starred in a large and disastrous signing for FC Barcelona for 135 million euros in 2018.

Third place belongs to the controversial Antony, a footballer for whom Manchester United paid 95 million euros in the summer of 2022 and who, since his arrival, his valuation and importance has only plummeted.

If any team pays Bruno Guimaraes’ termination clause this summer, a very probable case considering his current sporting and salary situation, the midfielder could dethrone Antony and take third place in this exclusive ranking in which these stars also appear:
