The Brazilian club wants to take advantage of Alexandre Pato"s great year at São Paulo and they have decided to increase their valuation of the 26-year-old.
Alexandre Pato, currently on loan at rivals São Paulo until the end of the year, has 24 goals to his name from 50 matches in 2015 and his parent club Corinthians have decided to raise their asking price to €25m. Deputy director Eduardo Ferreira also commented on the possibility of the forward coming back to the Itaquera in January, if their valuation is not matched. Timão were previously believed to be demanding other clubs to pay Pato"s release clause of €10m, but the management says that it doesn"t apply for foreign clubs. As mentioned in Globo Esporte, the player was told by agents that European clubs are interested in signing him at the end of the year and was encouraged with the possibility of returning to Europe. Eduardo Ferreira said: “At the moment, there are only enquiries. But if a club comes in with an offer of €25m, we will let him go, otherwise he will return [in January]."
