Brazilian full-back Jonathan, who was out of contract since his deal with Italian club Inter Milan ended, has signed for Fluminense until December 2016.
According to Globo Esporte, Jonathan is expected to train at the Laranjeiras on Tuesday afternoon, and his official presentation should happen after the training session or on Wednesday. In an interview few days ago, Jonathan had revealed his intentions to return to Brazilian football, but gave no clues about his destination. The 29-year-old barely played for Inter Milan last season as he made just five appearances [three starts] for the club, with his last game coming almost an year ago in a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in September 2014. In Brazil, Jonathan gained prominence by playing for Cruzeiro between 2005 and 2010 where he won the Mineiro championship on three occasions, and then joined Santos in 2011. In Wellington Silva, Renato and Jonathan, Fluminense coach Enderson now has three options for the right-back position.
