Wagner Ribeiro, who stated through his Twitter account last week about a €20m proposal from Fenerbahçe for Gabigol, now says they didn’t reach the €20m valuation of Santos.
According to Globo Esporte, Fenerbahçe sent an official document with a €10m proposal to Santos for 19-year-old Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, but it was turned down by the Brazilian club, deeming the offer as too low. The Turkish club then sent an email stating they’ve increased their offer to €15m, but the response from Santos was the same with Gabigol not keen on leaving the club anytime soon. The player’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, said: “The proposal that reached Santos was €10m, and I said that it wouldn’t be accepted. Fenerbahçe then informed they’ll offer €15M, but I told them that our valuation was €20m.”
As the club are in financial difficulties, Santos had intended to negotiate Gabigol had the offer been €20m. Santos own 40% economic-rights of the forward, while the player himself owns another 40% and the rest is held by investment group Doyen.
