Jose Mourinho has stated that none of his first team places are set in stone and urged Radamel Falcao to prove this.

It is widely believed that Diego Costa will be the number one forward at Stamford Bridge but Mourinho was quick to dismiss this belief.

“He [Falcao] can be second, first or third [choice]," Mourinho told The Independent. “He knows, Diego knows and [Loic] Remy knows that. It is open competition between the three of them. That"s our objective, that"s why we want three strikers ready and important."

Mourinho surprised the football world by signing Falcao but believes the Colombian was unlucky in his failed stint at Manchester United.

“Every team has their style of play and every manager has their way of football. If Mr. Van Gaal didn"t play him more it"s because he had his ideas and we have to respect that."

“He [Falcao] can be second, first or third [choice]," Mourinho is quoted as saying by The Independent.
