Ex-CBF president José Maria Marin has refused to be voluntarily extradited from Switzerland to the United States to face the accusations levelled against him of corruption and fraud.
Swiss authorities held on Tuesday their first meeting with Marin on the issue since his arrest on May 27 and his lawyers confirmed that he would be fighting the extradition request, obliging Swiss authorities to open extradition proceedings against him themselves.
The 83-year-old insists that the documentation held by American authorities is not sufficient to prove any criminal involvement on his part.
