Atletico Madrid are set to make a move for their former defender Filipe Luís ahead of the new La Liga season.
The 29 year old joined Chelsea from Atletico last year in a £16 million deal. Chelsea will be expecting their money back if they are to part ways with Luís who made 24 appearances in all competitions last season.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone doesn’t seem put off and made it clear that Luís is a target in a recent interview.
“He is a player that we love both because he is a great kid and because we know him well and he gave a lot to this team (when he was here). I hope it happens.”
Atletico were set to offer Toby Alderweireld to Chelsea as part of the deal but the Belgian defender has now moved to Tottenham Hotspur instead.
