Dani Alves has finally agreed to extend his contract at Barcelona after the two parties finally settled their differences.

It seemed that Alves was set to leave the club after refusing to sign repeated offers from the board. In an explosive interview in late May Alves even criticised club officials,
“I do not feel that you grant me the value I deserve. Right now, I’m with the team at 200%, but 10% with the club management. I have a foot, half my body and almost all my mind away from the club.”

AC Milan and Manchester United were set to swoop for the 32 year old but he has now committed himself for two years with a contract until 2017. This comes only 24 hours after club vice president Jordi Mestre warned Alves that he was running out of time to decide.
