Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu and vice-president Jordi Mestre say the Brazilian is running out of time to accept a new contract offer.
Barcelona have told Dani Alves to decide quickly whether he wants to sign a new contract with the club. The 32-year-old admitted following Barça’s treble celebrations that he could be set to leave Camp Nou after failing to agree terms over a new deal. Josep Maria Bartomeu told TV3: “Alves has had an offer on the table for weeks. He has an offer for two years, plus one more, and he will decide what he will do. There is not much for us to decide.”
Vice-president Jordi Mestre added: “We have made an offer that I think is good. The floor is his. It’s his decision and he has to take it quickly. If he didn’t want to continue, we wouldn’t have made any offer.”
