Brazilian left back Marcelo is set to be given extra days off by Real Madrid after it was confirmed he will miss this summer’s Copa America.
The 27 year old left back has an injury to his lower back and it is unclear just how long the condition will take to heal itself. Marcelo was one of the most used players at Real Madrid this season with 53 appearances.
Real will now give Marcelo an extra week off to recuperate. This means the full back will get 49 days off overall. He is expected to be fit for the start of pre season on July 12th.
