Manchester City would be prepared to double Philippe Coutinho’s current weekly wage of £70,000 in order to prise him away from Liverpool this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Coutinho recently signed an Anfield contract extension until 2020 but, with City reportedly prepared to pay £35 million to bring the Brazilian midfielder to Eastlands, Liverpool’s resolve to keep him will be strongly tested during the next transfer window.
