Bursaspor Chairman Recep Bölükbaşı has confirmed that he is eager to retain Atlético Paranaense owned forward Fernandão.

The 27 year-old has scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for Şenol Güneş’ side so far this season and is currently the top scorer in the Spor Toto Süper Lig, alongside Trabzonspor’s Óscar Cardozo.

With his agreement at Bursaspor expiring in June, a number of clubs are believed to be keen on signing Fernandão for next term. Despite the growing interest however, Bölükbaşı is confident that he can secure a deal for the Brazilian.

“We know other Turkish clubs are interested in Fernandão but he is very happy at Bursaspor,” he told Bursaspor TV, as reported by website Turkish-Football.

“We have held talks with both the player and his parent club. We want to keep hold of our Brazilian striker for next season.”

Fernandão initially joined Bursaspor in January 2014 and has netted 25 goals in 46 appearances since then.

Before signing for Atlético Paranaense in May 2012, he also spent numerous seasons being loaned out by his former employees Tombense.
