Santos wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa has revealed his delight at playing alongside Robinho after describing the ex-Real Madrid star as an ‘idol".
Gabriel broke into the Santos first team last year and has impressed at times during his fledgling career, and the 18-year-old stated that he holds teammate Robinho in high esteem at the club.
He told Lancenet: ‘I am very new, but Robinho is an idol. He shares a room with me and when I first arrived [at Santos], he was leaving [for Real Madrid in 2005] but now he is my friend.
‘He is my partner in football and we have a connection – but on the pitch, we are all equal."
