Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has admitted when you play at the highest level you have to play through the pain.

The Brazilian was quoted by Sports Mole prior to the Ligue 1 champions clash with Monaco.

The 27-year-old discussed how he strives to play every single match, even if he does have pain in his knees sometimes.

The former Chelsea ace said: “When you play at a high level for years, it’s normal to play with pain.

“It’s part of daily life for a lot of players.

“I’m doing everything I can to shrug off the pain in my knee. I’ve got the best job in the world and I want to play every match that God gives me.”

Luiz started PSG’s clash with Monaco on Sunday night, despite being an injury doubt beforehand.

The Brazil international moved to Paris in the summer from Chelsea for £50 million.
