Brazil coach Dunga and his coaching staff staff have been filming training sessions to help players learn from their errors.

On Friday evening, Dunga faces his first match back in charge of the Seleção Brasileira against Colombia, at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The 1994 World Cup winning captain has been paying particular attention to dead balls and set pieces. Free-kicks and corners, both from an offensive and defensive standpoint, have been studied meticulously in an effort to stamp out any unnecessary error.

Yesterday, Brazil trained once again at the Florida International University in Miami. Assistant Fernando Lázaro filmed the entire training routine dedicated to crosses and corners. Having previously worked at Paulista club Corinthians, he is a new addition to Dunga’s backroom staff.

Yesterday, he placed cameras in the highest possible position at the university to get the best view of the players’ positions during dead ball work.

Dunga’s idea is to assess, by watching back the recording of the training session, if the positioning of his players at set pieces is correct. If a defender is in the wrong place at the time of a cross, it could have potentially dreadful consequences for the entire team.

When the team practised set pieces Dunga requested that the press stopped recording the session, a common ask so that opponent scouts cannot get an idea of the defensive or offensive shape of a team.
