It was reported last night that Juventus were lining up a move for Benfica captain Luisão and the speculated transfer has developed overnight.

The Brazilian defender has been targeted by the Italian club due to them wanting to add another defensive option to their squad.

Football Italia confirmed that Juventus were looking to buy the 33-year-old and journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes personal terms have now been agreed.

On Di Marzio’s website, he claims Luisão has agreed personal terms with the Turin club and is happy to commit to a three-year deal worth €3 million per season.

However, the sticking point in the transfer is the valuation difference both sides have over the Benfica captain.

The Portuguese outfit are believed to be asking for €4 million, whilst Juventus were going to request Benfica release their captain on a free transfer.

With Luisão’s contract set to run out in 2016, that seems unlikely but with everything accept a transfer fee reportedly agreed, expect more developments regarding this transfer shortly.
