Former Brazil international Michel Bastos is apparently on the verge of a move to Sao Paulo from Al Ain in the Middle East, according to reports surfacing from espn.uol.com this morning.

The ex-Lyon and Lille wing back, who spent a successful loan spell at AS Roma last term under former boss Rudi Garcia, has decided to return to Brazil at the age of 31 and join up with the team that are fast becoming the Harlem Globetrotters of Brazilian domestic football.

In something of a contemporary dream team, at least in Brazilian terms, Tricolor now boast a roster that includes the talents of Alexandre Pato, Paulo Henrique Ganso, Kaka, Alan Kardec and Luis Fabiano.

It is believed that Michel Bastos feels he has a better chance of re-entering the Brazil national set-up with a strong season in South America, having been selected by boss Dunga in his first spell in charge of the country.

Bastos was part of the 2010 World Cup squad that was eliminated at the quarter final stage and has won ten caps for Selecao, scoring one goal.
