Brazil midfielder Hernanes believes the pressures that go with being the host nation can spur his country on to win the upcoming World Cup.

The country that holds the event normally fares well – such as South Korea in 2002 and the USA in 1994- and the Inter Milan player sees the experience as a positive one.

In an interview with the Times of India, 28 year-old Hernanes said: “The pressure is always on us because we are playing at the highest level.”

“We are used to feeling it. Having said that, I want to do well in front of people of my country. I am very happy and proud to have reached this point in my career. Brazil are already on top and now we get the chance to play in our country. The situation will bring out the best in us.”

“I do hope Brazil win. Look out for Argentina and Germany. It’s great schools that make a difference in a World Cup.”
