The ‘Rubro-Negra’ have not given up hope of signing the 30-year-old striker.

LANCE!NET reports that Plínio Serpa Pinto, Flamengo’s vice-president of external relations,  is in Italy to begin negotiations with the AC Milan player.

At the start of the year, Flamengo were in talks with Robinho but the finance director, Rodrigo Tostes, vetoed the deal as the Italian club were asking for a transfer fee of around €6 million (£18 million).

Robinho has made less appearances for the ‘Rossoneri’ since then so the player may now be within budget and available for approximately €3 million (£ 9 million).
