David Luiz has spent the past seven years in Europe, moving to Benfica in 2007 from Vitoria and then transferring to English side Chelsea in 2011 for a fee in the region of €25 million. In his time at Stamford Bridge, he has helped the club to win the Champions League in 2012 as well as the Europa League the following season.

Luiz is one of head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari"s most trusted options at the back, as well as providing cover if necessary in a defensive midfield capacity, although it would appear that the boss has others in mind there. A bubbly character, he fits the profile of the rest of the squad perfectly.
