Manchester City and Brazil midfielder Fernandinho has been revelling in the news that his club have won the Barclay’s Premier League title after a final day 2-0 win against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking with City’s official website, the 29 year-old said: “Very good. I feel very happy. For my first season in England, for me it’s amazing.”
“At the beginning of the game we were a little bit nervous but in the end it was relaxed because we won 2-0, we did our job and after that we want to celebrate with our fans.”
The championship ends an excellent first campaign in English football for six-times capped Fernandinho following a move to City worth over £30 million. At previous club Shakhtar Donetsk, he had won six league titles in eight years.
The midfielder has the added bonus of celebrating a call-up to Luiz Felipe Scolari’s final Brazil squad for next month’s World Cup, where it is thoughthe will be pusking for a place in the starting XI.
