Defender Henrique has praised head coach Rafael Benítez and is hopeful that is good form for Napoli will earn him a call up for the World Cup.

The Brazilian, who joined from Palmeiras in January, has settled quickly in Naples and demonstrated his adaptability with some excellent performances in both midfield and defence.

“I am very happy here and like the squad around me,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“I’d like to stay for a long time, but right now we must focus on getting back into the Champions League so we can play an even better season.

“It’s a very important game against Fiorentina on Sunday, especially as we will also play them in the Coppa Italia Final in May.

“It’s a real shame we didn’t go through to the quarter-finals, as we deserved to be there. We could’ve continued our European dream and are clearly sad now, but we look forward with confidence.

“I am happy that Rafa Benítez has so much faith in me. I am prepared to play in any position if it means helping the team.

“By playing like this, I can also dream of a World Cup call. I am working hard and trying to give my all.”
