Corinthians have announced via their official website that they will have a first training seesion as a club inside their new stadium on Saturday morning, marking another watershed moment in the organisation of this summer’s World Cup.

The Sao Paulo side, who will enjoy the new facility for years to come, will go through their drills on the same pitch that will host the first game of Brazil’s international showpiece event- against Croatia on June 12. 

The stadium, which has a capacity of 48,000 which will rise to 60,00 for the duration of the tournament, cost some £300 million to contruct and will host a total of six games at the World Cup, including the second semi-final on July 9.
