41-year-old Tibério Barreto fell three metres as he celebrated Auto Esporte’s equalising goal in their game against Sousa in the Paraiba state championship.
The death of the fan was confirmed on Monday morning after he fell from the stand at the Estádio Almeidão.
The scorer of the goal, Gustavo, was one of the first to realise what had happened.
The fan was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night.
