Neymar’s attitude and ability have once more been lauded by an international and club teammate as the striker steps up his return to the Barcelona starting XI after a month’s injury absence. Adriano, the left back, has spoken of his admiration for his 22 year-old colleague at a press coference ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.

“I see him get better every day. We were concerned with the injury and with the problems off the field. But he is thinking at 100% and has taken the difficult moments very well.”

On the topic of this summer’s World Cup, at which Adriano still harbours ambitions of playing, the 29 year-old said: “First I need to be at the level that Barcelona want and then I’ll think about Brazil and the World Cup. It’ll be hard to get called up on account of the stiff competition. Scolari has doubts on my position and I will kepp working.”

Adriano has 17 Brazil caps but made his debut way back in 2003.
