In an interview with Marca.com the defender spoke about a possible showdown with Real Madrid and the opportunity to play against former boss Carlo Ancelotti.
“Carlo is a wonderful person; a very important man in my sporting life. He was the one who brought me from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain and I will always be grateful. He is a good guy, and we often talk on the phone.”
One of the Italian manager’s defenders is also an inspiration to Alex.
“I admire Sergio Ramos. He is the best defender in the Spanish league. He is a very complete player, with great technique. He is very good at playing the ball out and anticipates well.”
Alex sees Real as one of PSG’s main rivals in Europe.
“Real, Barcelona and Bayern are the big rivals in Europe. We had a great game in Leverkusen, but we have to remain focussed in the second leg and build our confidence for the quarter-finals.”
“I think that PSG is ready to win the Champions League this year.”
