Fluminenese striker Walter believes that club captain Fred can be one of the stars of the upcoming World Cup and admits to being impressed by his fellow striker since joining the club on loan from Portuguese outfit Porto- and even admitted to dreaming of a call-up himself.

“Every player thinks about being called up for the 2014 World Cup. Me, this is no different,” Walter told Slav Arena, “However, I know I just arrived at Fluminense. I’m 24 so if not this time, I’d like to help Brazil defend next time.”

“Moreover, I’m training with Fred and we can discuss the potential of winning the tournament. It is he who will bring the World Cup to us,” declared Walter.

Fred is largely expected to be named by Luiz Felipe Scolari as his World Cup Number 9, a key position in which Brazil do not have much depth this year.
