Antônio Marques Pedro, known as Toninho, experienced his first Corinthians game at Neo Química Arena, witnessing a 3-0 victory over Fluminense. This opportunity arose thanks to Gabriel Moscardo, a former student at the school where Toninho has worked as a doorman for 33 years.

Moscardo, now a professional player for Corinthians, learned about Toninho’s lifelong dream during a recent visit to the school. “Neto, my boss, told him about my dream of going to the Corinthians game. He said he would get the tickets,” Toninho recalled.
Last Sunday, Toninho, along with four others, made the trip from Taubaté to São Paulo, arriving 30 minutes before the game began. The stadium experience overwhelmed him. “I had only watched it on television. On television, it’s one thing. At the stadium, it’s very different. The crowd cheering, shouting. That all gave me goosebumps,” he said. His boss later commemorated the day by giving him a framed picture of the ticket.
At 53, Toninho emphasized, “It’s never too late.” His reunion with Moscardo was joyful. “I remember him at school. It is a great satisfaction to see where he has come, to have become a professional player,” Toninho expressed, adding, “I told him I was his number 1 fan.”.
