Nicolás Otamendi has been included in Atlético Mineiro’s Copa Libertadores squad list, as he closes in on a loan move from Valencia.
The Argentina international joined the La Liga outfit from Porto in January, but has been forced to play out the season elsewhere, as Valencia are not allowed to register another non-EU player.
Atlético Mineiro are yet to confirm the deal, but his inclusion in Head Coach Paulo Autuori’s squad would suggest an announcement is imminent.
With the World Cup just a few months away, Otamendi had little choice but to seek out a club that could offer him regular football and the 25 year-old is expected to quickly become a starter at the Belo Horizonte-based side.
