Botafogo goalkeeper Jefferson is hoping that his Copa Libertadores clean sheet last week against Deportivo Quito can serve as a reminder to Luiz Felipe Scolari that he is ready and available for Brazilian duty.

Jefferson told the media that the crowd at the game were fantastic: “I congratulate everyone. When we entered the Maracana we all shivered. The crowd was wonderful.”

The shot stopper, 31, has targeted a World Cup spot and knows that continental performances will aid his cause no end, as Botafogo returned to South America’s leading club championship after a 17 year hiatus.

With nine caps to his name already, Jefferson – who was part of the Brazil squad to triumph at the 2013 Confederations Cup- will be hoping that Felipao calls on him for the ultimate test- a World Cup on home soil.
