Former Brazil international Túlio is believed to have scored the 1000th goal of his career.

The 44 year-old, who has been capped 15 times by the Seleção, netted for Araxá in their 2-1 win against Mamoré in the Módulo II da Primeira Divisão.

Túlio was delighted to have achieved a feat only matched by Pelé and Romário and was thankful for the support he’s received.

“I am ecstatic at the number of people who have come here to give me all of their positive energy,” he said, as reported by Xinhua. “I want to thank them and repay them by scoring more goals.”

Túlio started his career with Goiás in 1988. The forward, who has played for over 25 different clubs, is best known for his various spells at Botafogo and won the Brasileirão with them in 1995.
