Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has not yet officially re-signed with Atletico Mineiro ahead of the resumption of club duties, according to his agent and brother.
The 33 year-old World Cup winner has agreed to sign a new deal with the Copa Libertadores holders but there are details still outstanding and he will not be available for selection until those are resolved.
His brother Roberto told reporters: “Atletico cannot confirm a deal yet. I did not come here today to meet with anyone. Possibly tomorrow or later, we will sit and talk.”
Ronaldinho will be suspended for his next Atletico game, as he serves a suspension picked up in the third place play-off in the World Club Cup match against Guangzou of China.
He will not be registered in time for Mineiro’s next game, a state championship fixture against Nacional on Sunday.
