Brazil superstar Neymar has sent messages of support to fellow injury victim Lucas Leiva as the pair ready themselves for respective periods out of action.

Lucas appeared as a half-time substitute for his club Liverpool during last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at Anfield but a problem with his knee meant the 24-times capped central midfielder had to leave the pitch; he has since been ruled out for two months.

Barcelona marksman Neymar suffered a lesser injury last week against Getafe, his ankle giving way and rendering him un available for selection for around a month.

Using social media, the 21 year-old Tweeted to Lucas: “Hi mate, be strong: we are together. God bless you!”

Lucas retorted: “Thanks brother, we’ll be back soon.”

Neymar finished the two-way by saying: “Good!! We’ll come back flying high… we’re together.”

Both players will be hoping to represent Brazil at the World Cup later this year, with Neymar an absolute certainty and Lucas more in the ‘possibles’ camp.
