Brazil midfielder Hernanes admitted Lazio’s 3-2 win over Udinese had made it the “perfect Sunday” for him, especially as he scored a late winner.

The 28-year-old also poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move away from Rome by insisting he will focus on his job with Biancazzurri.

Talking to Lazio Style Radio, the exquisite attacker said he had no objections to starting on the bench either.

Hernanes said: “Yes I was very calm, (Edoardo Reja) told me on Saturday and I did not make any objections. I was calm and eager to help the team.

“We were in trouble, we had a period of not winning away from home, it seemed that we wouldn’t be able to win but thanks to God and the strength of the team that I could help the team with the winning goal.

“Today I was able to help the team score, it was nice. I came out with this goal and it was wonderful.”

Then immediately after the game to Sky Sports Italia, Hernanes talked about speculation linking him with Inter Milan and Manchester United amongst other teams.

“It was the perfect Sunday. I thank God for the win,” added the former São Paulo man.

“I do not care about offers. I concentrate on my work and don’t let rumours bother me. I just want to do my job and do it well.”
