In women’s football, Champions League quarter finalists Tyreso FF have pulled off a signing coup by snaping up Brazilian quartet Mayara, Thaisa, Rilany and Fabiana to play alongside compatriot and pioneer of the ladies’ game Marta.

The Swedish club, who have recently been the subject of a huge recruitment drive, are on course to win the European title in 2014, according to their coach Tony Gustavsson.

Speaking with uefa.com, Gustavsson said: “We stand firm in our dream to make it to the Champions League Final in Lisbon, and to once again challenge for the Swedish league title in 2014”

Although Tyreso have had to release seven first-team members prior to the new season, the signings of four Brazilians as well as the continued stay of five-time World Player of the Year Marta means that they can enter domestic and continental matters with a South American swagger.
