He may be 40-years-old but Dida is still as fit as a fiddle according to Internacional trainer Cristiano Nunes who has been putting the former Brazil international goalie through his paces at training.

Nunes told Lance how impressed he was with the new Internacional goalkeeper and admitted he can easily see why he has been one of the best.

“The data from Dida was excellent. He has had a worldwide career, been a consolidated name and it is certainly not for nothing.

“His aerobic performance was great, the force also yielded good levels. It is a great example for all.”

The experienced goalkeeper will not need any praise for self-confidence but the latest comments from Nunes are sure to please the goalie and Colorado fans.

Muriel was number one goalkeeper last season and has been with the club since he was a youngster but Dida will be aiming to win his jersey.

In last season’s Brasileirão Dida made 37 appearances for former club Grêmio and he isn’t at his newest Porto Alegre based club to make up the numbers.

Dida will be intent on becoming number one keeper and these comments from Nunes will only add to his belief that he can claim a starting position.
