Ronaldinho will extend his stay at Atlético Mineiro, according to a report on Lancenet.

The website claims the 33 year-old has been persuaded to stay by Atlético President Alexandre Kalil, who recently hinted at an agreement on Twitter.

It had been reported earlier this week that Ronaldinho would sign with Beşiktaş, after receiving a suizable offer from the Spor Toto Süper Lig side.

The veteran has, however, seemingly decided to turn his back on a return to Europe and will now remain in Brazil.

Ronaldinho has been instrumental in Atlético’s recent success and played a starring role as they won the Copa Libertadores last season. His year ended in disappointment, however, as he was sent off in Mineiro’s FIFA Club World Cup Third Place match, against Guangzhou Evergrande.
