Last season’s top scorer in the Campeonato Brasileiro B, Bruno Rangel, has travelled to Qatar to sign a contract with Al Arabi.
The 32 year-old striker, who has also been courted by top Brazilian sides Corinthians and Santos, scored 31 league goals last term as his side Chapecoense secured a second-place finish and resulting promotion.
Website globoesporte have reported that Rangel rejected offers from his homeland in order to accept the security of a longer term deal abroad, the details of which are yet to be broadcast.
Chapecoense finished seven points behind Serie B champions Palmeiras in 2013 as Bruno notched up a record goals tally for the division and helped his soon-to-be former club return to the top league for the first time since 1979.
At Al Arabi, Rangel will team up with fellow Brazilian and ex-Flamengo striker Wanderley.
