Porto midfielder Fernando has apparently entered into contract negotiatons with AC Milan that would see him move to the San Siro when his contract expires in the summer of this year.

The 26 year-old midfielder has been playing in Portugal since 2007, when he was signed from Vila Nova in the third tier of Brazilian football.

A regular in the Porto side, Fernando has Champions League experience and was also reportedly a target for other Italian teams, namely Inter and Napoli.

According to reports abola.pt, the player, who in December announced his availability for Portugal on the grounds of citizenship, could move to AC Milan even sooner than anticipated with the prospect of a small transfer fee perhaps hurrying up the transfer.

During his time at Porto, Fernando has won the Europa League four consecutive Portuguese Championships and two Portuguese Cups.
