Brazilian forward, Gilberto, is set to put pen to paper on a contract at Toronto FC and will complete a medical tomorrow.

The forward has had a tough time with many different clubs in the past, the 24 year old made his name at Santa Cruz scoring 14 goals in 31 appearances.

Gilberto then signed for Internacional in 2011 after impressing club officials with his goal scoring record.

The forward spent this season on loan at Portugeusa, scoring 14 in 24 appearances, helping the club to a 12th place finish in the league.

And now Gilberto is moving up North to Canada to ply his trade in the MLS. Speaking today, the striker said: “Fantastic. It’s very cold, but no problem.” Reports, The Toronto Star.

“I’m coming to a very good side. I also appreciate the quality of life here. And I want to open a new market in Major League Soccer for Brazilians. The primary job is to win titles.”

Gilberto could possibly complete his move to the MLS this week, if all goes well tomorrow in his medical.
