Porto are hoping to re-sign Manchester United midfielder Anderson on loan in January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 25 year-old left the Portuguese giants in May 2007, for €30 million. His development in England, however, has stalled, after a promising start.

Anderson made 26 appearances last season, scoring once, but this term he’s started just twice.

Fulham, who are now managed by former Manchester United coach René Meulensteen, have been linked, but the Daily Mirror suggests Porto are now favourites to net the Brazil international, capped eight times, should he become available.

Porto first signed Anderson from Grêmio in January 2006 for €7 million. He only had 18 months in Portugal, winning the Primeira Liga twice, the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and Taça de Portugal.

At Manchester United, he’s won the Premier League four times, two Football League Cup’s, two FA Community Shield’s, the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
